Another wild and crazy week ended with Paris and I getting eye exams. Turns out I need reading computer glasses and Paris had a slight improvement in her vision. A few hundred dollars later, we find ourselves ordering some new eye gear. Me? A simple pair of “on-sale” spectacles. Paris? Pink, sparkly Ray Ban glasses (and no, not on sale).
What made this week crazy? Geez, where to start?
My biggest challenge as an entrepreneur is distractions. I can be bullet train and hit incredible records in anything I do. However, the track is always changing, shifting and redirecting, making it nearly impossible to control the destination.
Between the awesome agencies I get to work with, and their fire drills, special events like last week’s Orange County Mixer, and offsite time I do with one of my favorite clients every week, I’m learning that my only time to actually “work” is between the hours of 10am and 3am.
I’ve decided to start delegating more to my two contractors and blocking out time to actually work each week while the sun is still out. Melissa even had to schedule lunches for me so I could stop throwing food away. At some point my schedule became literally back-to-back with phone calls from 8am until 5pm. We’re back on track and I’m proud to say, we will be eating lunches 3 days this week – hooray!
Well, it’s 3am, so I’m off to get some rest – I hear it’s good for you. 🙂
